My American Heart is a rock band from San Diego, California, originally named No Way Out. The band members Larry Soliman (vocals), Jesse Barrera (bass guitar), Dustin Hook (guitar) and Steven Oria (drums) settled for the band name because they “are all American”. The band’s first release was their self-titled EP in 2004. My American Heart burst into the spotlight after winning The Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, which allowed them to headline the Ernie Ball stage on the Warped Tour in 2005. Original member Clint Delgado left the band after the band’s increasing popularity forced them so play further away from home. My American Heart also played the 2005 Taste of Chaos tour and recorded their debut album, ‘The Meaning in Makeup’, with Sal Villanueva later that year. After headlining an independent tour with bands such as Lorene Drive and Action Action, My American Heart recorded their second full-length album ‘Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather’. They also supported both Madina Lake and The Blackout during their tours of Europe in late 2007.
