Capsi is a community and profile web site focused on live music. Inspired by existing social networking sites, we intend to offer a fun alternative or supplement while addressing some of the shortcomings of similar sites (which nonetheless we do actually like).
For instance, Myspace is definitely doing great when it comes to popularity amongst my target audience of music-minded teenagers and young adults, but the usability of that site leaves much to be desired. And while Facebook does have a great interface, its total lack of focus ensures it's not really the right place to go when you're looking for live music. (Not to mention the facts that all the third-party applications turned it into quite a mess for some of us.)
With Capsi we attempt to provide the best of both worlds: good usability and good focus. One of the key features we offer is the ability for users to keep track of concerts they have visited and plan to see, putting the actual focus on concert attendance. Users can also export their calendars and statistics onto other sites and pages. We send recommendations and ticket reminders as well.
You probably have noticed that this site has some text written from a first person perspective.
The reason is very simple: Capsi used to be a hobby project (of Rob Kaper) and we're still working on removing overly personal messages. Continued support from our users will allow us to keep expanding and add more and more professionalism to Capsi, ultimately enhancing user experience.
